1. Consulting on re-commissioning sexual health services & sub group inclusion
SN: updated the group on the re-commissioning of sexual health services across BNSSG – it emphasises how on the issue of sexual health there’s a joint-up approach across authorities.
Tendering process has begun and a LGBT users group has been identified that will feed into the tendering process. Once the service has been commissioned in September 2016 then there will be a role for the group what this might be will need to be discussed once the decision has been made on who is awarded the contract.
2. User Group Event
SN: The first user group met on Wednesday 29th June & Friday 1st July – A huge thank you to everyone who took part and for their comments suggestions throughout which I have fed back to the commissioning group to consider as part of the tendering process.
In total 10 members of the LGBT community from across BNSSG commented on specific questions relating to the tenders.
3. Sexual Content for Manifesto
The group needs to consider now what it would like as outcomes from the manifesto specific to sexual health outcomes – suggestions could be that PREP is available across BNSSG and HPV vaccine available as prevention for anally receptive young gay men.
